I’m Floor Mulder, the founder of Studio AEST, a creative agency specializing in interior design. At Studio AEST, we help brands to stand out through our 360-brand service including strategy, visual identity, marketing, and aesthetics. I lead my team with a passion for ensuring brands benefit from the best of both worlds: aesthetic appeal and strategic marketing. With a strong foundation in photography and strategy, I am dedicated to creating aesthetic brands that resonate with our clients' customer base and drive growth. My love for photography and design was sparked during my upbringing in a home filled with interior design and contemporary art. Surrounded by these influences, my love for capturing beautiful moments through photography grew. Littledid I know then that I would merge this passion with my academic background to forge a career at the intersection of creativity and strategy, which brings me inspiration every day.

YOUR APARTMENT REFLECT YOU?

In my living space, you'll find a reflection of my personal taste and passions. I have a deep appreciation for design classics and timeless pieces, complemented by a record player, my acoustic guitar, and art/photography adorning the walls. I have one golden rule in my home: no empty white walls; every space needs art to add personality and character. I'm also a sucker for the old elements in my home like the ceilings and marble fireplaces, which captured my heart from the moment I first stepped inside. Besides, I love to cook and host dinners in my open kitchen, where the ambiance is set with music playing softly in the background and a well-styled dining table with flowers and beautiful tableware, serving as the centerpiece.

YOUR FAVORITE OBJECT?

One of my favorite items is my Dirk van der Kooij stool. It's a piece I've admired for a long time and was lucky to acquire one of the last ones from Frozen Fountain before they ceased production. Its vibrant color adds a pop to my space.

WHAT INSPIRE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU CREATE?

I'm endlessly inspired by the interplay of light and shadow. The transformative effects of light captivate me, influencing how I capture interior spaces. Additionally, I find inspiration in all things aesthetic. Whether it's a beautiful color combination I come across, a beautiful interior in a restaurant, or someone's outfit, it fuels my creativity and sparks new ideas.

When I create, I immerse myself completely in the moment. Distractions fade away as I focus on capturing the essence of a space or object. Guided by the interplay of light and shadow, I seek out the right composition that tells a story through my lens. I have a particular passion for capturing details and finding beauty in the ordinary.

THANK YOU FLOOR FOR ANSWERING, ONE LAST QUESTION: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MAIDEN INTERIOR?

I first got to know Maiden through a photoshoot I did for Studio Kai, where her interior styling instantly created a serene and inviting atmosphere. She has the talent to creatively transform places into relaxed atmospheres where every detail makes sense.
